What is there to do on a rainy night in Georgia? Here's what's to do, thanks to my loving husband:
We think Comet looks like Truly - except for the ears. |
"A story about a friendship between two former winners, both a little down on their luck, who together stage a remarkable comeback. One is Comet, an abused greyhound racing dog ditched by her owner. The other is Stephen Wolf, ditched by the partners in the company he founded. The bond and their faith in each other will make them winners once again."
There was rain and wind for about 15 minutes. Then it was gone. |
A tornado touched down on the other side of the state. |
Meanwhile Truly, Maggie and Walker are comfy, warm and dry.
They love it when I read to them. :)
P.S. - I'll let you know what I think about the book when I've finished reading it. I just hope it doesn't make me cry. Books about dogs always get to me . . .
You might also like Days With Lacey Blue, which is another Greyhound story. Our Blueberry is the cover model!
ReplyDeleteWe had crazy weather here, too! Ours is just going to get colder, though!
Wow! I just KNEW Blueberry was a star! I found "Lacey Blue and Friends: A Greyhound Story." Is that it? It's next on our reading list!
DeleteSounds like a winner! Looking forward to hearing what you think.
ReplyDeleteHope you like the book.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were safe from the tornado.
Oh, that sounds good. I like unsentimental animal stories much better than 'cutesie' or whimsical ones. And definitely better than the 'poor dog' sort. I'll see if I can find it on Kindle.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lucky escape from the weather!
Your kids have their own personal Read Program. Maybe I should start reading to my kids.
ReplyDeleteI saw that the book and I have been thinking of buying it for my Kindle. Let us know what you think.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Comet's Tale when I read it a couple of weeks ago. Make me want to train greyhound service dogs :)
ReplyDeleteWe love books about dogs and especially greyhounds. Our bookshelf is almost completely taken over by dog related tomes. We have not read this one though and we'll be awaiting your final review!
