Creature of Habit

Truly goes through "spells" of not wanting to eat his food.  I guess he grows tired of the same thing every morning and afternoon.  I try to make sure the Brindle Kids have a variety of tastes and textures mixed in with their kibble.  One day they'll have pumpkin and yogurt, the next they might have chicken broth, the next they may have cooked vegetables, then maybe some cottage cheese or canned food mixed in.  A special favorite is scrambled eggs.

Maggie appreciates the different "mix-ins" but she has never been finicky about food.  She'll eat just about anything.  Here she is enjoying her dinner:
Then she walked away mid-meal:  (Notice the laundry room door is open.  Saw just went in there.)
Saw came out of the laundry room and closed the door behind her.  Maggie came back to finish her dinner.
Hmmmm . . . Testing an hypothesis, I opened the door again.
I closed the door and now Maggie's back.
Maggie's not afraid of the laundry room.  She walks through it bunches of times a day to go outside.  Otherwise, we keep that door closed all the time because that's where the trash can is and we keep the trash can in the laundry room because the Brindle Kids can't stay out of it.  Maggie is accustomed to the door being closed and she can't eat until everything is right with her world.  She's a little creature of habit and finds comfort in her established routine.

  1. It is funny to see what each dog considers part of their routine. It's up to us to figure it out if things get out of place.
